This notice explains how Orrery Intelligence collects and uses personal information. Orrery Intelligence is a trading name of TRG Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 11731704, Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU. TRG Digital Ltd is the data controller. Contact us at hello@orreryintelligence.com.
What we collect and why
- Live data waitlist. Your name, email, organisation, role, the councils and plan you choose, and the page you joined from. We use it to email you when live data opens and to decide which councils to launch first. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us or using the link in our emails.
- Report purchases. Your name, email, billing details and what you bought. We use them to deliver your report, stamp your PDF with your name, email address and order number (so each copy can be traced to its licence), email you the report, and provide support. Receipts and VAT invoices are sent by Onelink, Stripe's merchant of record service. Our lawful basis is the contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
- Anonymous page measurement. We measure how pages are used (pages viewed, scroll depth, clicks on buttons, which ad or website a visit came from) with our own Funnel Insights tool, run by TRG Digital Ltd. It stores nothing on your device, uses a random visit number that is forgotten when you leave, and does not identify you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site and knowing which adverts work. You can opt out at any time by visiting any page with ?fi_optout=1 added to the address.
- Google Ads, only if you accept. If you accept the Google Ads cookie, Google tells us when a visit from one of our adverts leads to a purchase. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can change with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
- Messages to us. What you send and your contact details, to reply to you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- Website security. Basic technical logs such as IP address and browser, kept by our hosting provider to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Information about care providers
Our reports and data use information that is already public, from the Care Quality Commission, Companies House and other official sources. Most of it is about companies and other organisations. Where a care service is registered to an individual or a partnership, their name can appear in the public records we use. We process that information under our legitimate interest in publishing market research about the care sector, we show company level facts rather than personal details, and you can ask us to review or object to how we use information about you.
Who we share it with
- Supabase, which hosts our database in London.
- Vercel, which hosts our website.
- Stripe and Onelink, which take payments as merchant of record and send receipts and VAT invoices. We never see or store your full card details.
- Resend, which sends our emails, including your report.
- Google, for advert measurement, only if you accept the Google Ads cookie.
- Professional advisers and authorities where the law requires it.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until you withdraw consent, or 24 months after live data launches if you have not subscribed.
- Purchase and invoice records: six years after the end of the financial year, as tax law requires.
- Messages: up to two years after we last hear from you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@orreryintelligence.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
